We have recently become aware that the names of Mitsubishi & Co., our affiliates, and/or their officers or employees have been used without permission in phone calls, e-mails, social media accounts, or otherwise to solicit access to scam websites through investment solicitation, placement of fake orders, or other similar means.

Examples of such fraudulent activities are as follows:

• Soliciting investments into a company falsely claimed to have been recommended by officers and/or employees of Mitsubishi & Co.
• Soliciting investments into a fund falsely claimed to have been established by officers and/or employees of Mitsubishi & Co.
• Inducing over the telephone a bank transfer by falsely explaining that the respondent will receive the corporate bond of a certain company, making an offer to purchase such corporate bond, and persuading such respondent of the necessity of preliminary confirmation of his or her account trading record
• Soliciting access to scam websites through placing a fake order via a spoofed e-mail using the name of Mitsubishi & Co. or the name of an officer or employee
• Soliciting admission to a welfare facility for the elderly via a phone call by a caller falsely claiming to be an officer or employee of Mitsubishi & Co.
• Soliciting transactions by falsely claiming to have business relations with Mitsubishi & Co. and/or its group companies
• Soliciting registration with scam websites via a spoofed social media account using the name of Mitsubishi & Co. person in charge of HR

Moreover, we have also received reports of fraudulent solicitations for fake transactions as if the entity concerned is affiliated with Mitsubishi & Co., via manipulation of a fake “official-looking” Mitsubishi & Co. website/social media accounts, which have been illegally duplicated without our permission.

As we and our affiliates have no relationship whatsoever with such fraudulent activities, please beware of and take appropriate steps to guard against any such fraudulent activities, including by checking the sender’s address and social media account, and the identity of any entity or person who is engaging in activities of solicitation.
